Time isn’t something I ever thought much about.

It ebbs and flows, but it never changes. I can’t make it stop—no matter how much I want to. There’s no way to rewind the clock or halt it. In this moment, all I want is to make the world stop and go back to when I was happy and ready to tackle the world. Just two short minutes ago, there was no worry about how my day would go. I was going away with the man I love, the one who healed me. But time isn’t my friend. It slaps me in the face and laughs as I stand here wondering how the hell any of this is happening. I don’t want to move forward, and I sure as hell don’t want to slow it down.

His voice is thick and husky as he refuses to break from my eyes. “Tell me you’re real.”

“I’m real.”

“Tell me you’re really here.”

“I’m here with you.” My hand rises, and I press my thumb to his lips. “I’m here for you. I’m here with only you. I need you so much.”

His eyes close as I rub my thumb, savoring the rough feel on my skin.

“Stay with me,” he pleads.

Liam’s hands rest on each side of my face as I drag him down further. “There’s nowhere else I want to be.” Our lips meet, and I lose myself.

On an exhale, he touches me so softly, I feel as though I might have just imagined it. As he grazes my sensitive flesh on the top of my legs, my breath hitches.   I’m frozen in place knowing I need to stop this, but I’m unable to pull away.   His eyes penetrate mine, daring me to stop him. But just as quickly as this game has started, it ends as he pulls his hand away.   “No, not yet. I want you to be only mine. Your thoughts, your body, your every desire. I think AVA HARRISON has broken me with IMPERFECT TRUTH...she has quite literally subjected my poor beating heart to a barrage of varying emotions reading this story. 

But, by god is it one heck of a story to read!

It is, quite simply put, a beautiful read. 

Author, AVA HARRISON has created such a deep and heart wrenching read with IMPERFECT TRUTH. It was both captivating yet painful to read at times, and it was very obvious and clear that some of the subject matters covered within the story, were very close to the authors heart. So much so that it almost felt like reading someone's personal diaries at times. 

IMPERFECT TRUTH is heartbreaking.

It's raw.

It is honest to the core.

But most importantly, it showcases the often questionable, yet sensitive subject of adultery, in a totally different light.

This isn't a story about one woman's intent to tear her once loving marriage apart at the seems.

This is a story of what happens when we just stop trying any more.

It's a story of what happens when we just give up on loving each other any longer.

Yet, it's also a story which shows that there's always two sides to every story.

The characters within this book are amazingly well written and portrayed, and I loved how you are taken along for the ride on the journey into the lives of Ava and Alexandre. 

This was one debut novel which I feel so lucky to have read this year, And I loved devouring every emotional second of it! 

The writing was effortlessly flawless, and one read you really do not want to miss out on in 2015. 

You would be crazy not to give IMPERFECT TRUTH a try.

“Want to hear a joke?” Her voice entered my mind as a flash of a memory hit me. My fists clenched as I gripped at the bed sheet. The muscles in my stomach clenched as I forced myself to hold onto to every second of it.

She had brown hair that flowed down her back freely. Big brown eyes that sparkled as she smiled at something I had said. She was saying something to me, her mouth moving, but I was unable to hear it... She was fading out…

“Killer.” Gauge’s voice was the first I heard, and it only made my anger worse. Who was she, and why the fuck did I have memories of a life I didn’t remember living?

“Get the fuck away from me,” I growled. I was on the verge of ripping the whole fucking room apart. My body was shaking as I shot out of bed.

“Killer. Stop. Calm down.” Gauge’s voice rang in my ears, but his words meant nothing to me. It was as if my mind and body weren’t connected. I wouldn’t be able to stop the destruction I would cause until I found answers. I needed them. So fucking badly.

Blood. Bathe in the blood of your enemies, the little voice in my head said. I smiled like the devil at the mere thought of killing—slaughtering.

I made my way up from the fourth floor climbing all four flights of stairs without a single bead of sweat forming. I was made this way. I was made to be indestructible.

Finding the nearest exit, I pushed out into the open alleyway that sat next to the building. It was time to hunt. To prey upon those who deserved it most. A piece of who I was, the one who clung to my humanity, the one who held onto the memory of that girl—disappeared. In its place was a man who would kill without even a thought. It's safe to say that I well and truly lapped up this little beauty, gobbling it up like a very hungry lioness who hasn't eaten a morsel of food for at least a month!

This is one book which will grip you from the very start...

It will totally refuse to release you from it's awesomely tight grip right up until you unfortunately have to reach the end. BOO HOO!!! *sad face*

Even then, you can't seem to get PROJECT: KILLER out of your mind for one second. It leaves you wanting for more, and begging for book two by this fabulous author, J.L. Beck.

I am relatively new to the world of books by J.L, so I was beyond excited to receive a copy of this absolute gem for review. The blurb sold it for me. I knew this would be one read I wouldn't forget in a hurry, and boy did it live up to all of my expectations. 

This truly was a book like no other...

It was new.

It was intense. 

It was intriguing.

It was like no other book i have ever read before. 

I loved how fresh and new this story was...Loving each and every word and full stop I read. Not wanting my journey into the lives of Maggie and Killer to end. EVER!!!

J.L has created two very strong characters in PROJECT: KILLER...

Maggie:

Maggie has suffered a lifetime of pain and heartache, not only at the hands of the cruel school bullies who taunted her daily for her loyalty and love for Diesel. But, also the pain of losing him, her best friend, her soulmate, the love of her life to the cruel harsh reality of cancer. 

Despite her pain, Maggie vows one day to be to able help other sufferers no longer have to suffer the same fate as Diesel. But that hope leads Maggie down one road she never expected to wander down. A road which leads her right into the hands of a stone cold killer.

& Killer:

Killer is the ultimate weapon. 

He's been genetically modified by the government to become the monster he now is today. 

He has no conscience, no emotions, and no memory of who he once was. That is until he meets a stranger in a bar one night. 

That stranger is Maggie, and Maggie's presence is unlocking those deep seated memories locked within his mind that the government tried so hard to hide from him.
